RAF Cosford

I have been running slightly behind with my blogging, so my aim is to upload/ blog about all the places i have been to in the last week as soon as possible so i can proceed and follow with my next adventures.

Last week I got taken to RAF Cosford. Me and Craig ended up there as a fluke, because all of the other places we had planned to go were closed. We joked that the UK Heritage sites are closed until April commences.

It was a lot better that we both expected as we were both apprehensive to start with.I was amazed how many different types of plan there were and the vast arrangement of uses, sizes etc. It also gave you a timeline for each plane and how long it was in service, some of them were not even in service a year and the timeline gave indications as to why. For example, some of the planes crash landed numerous times in the pilot year, or bits of the plane fell off, leading its service to cease.

Here are some pictures from the day...

It was an ideal place for children and adults alike, and the part of the museum that was an education action zone was BRILLIANT. It provided Hands on experience for people to see just why the plane stays in there air, how helicopters balance, how food parcels are dropped accurately, why the correct material for each part of the plane is important and many more exciting things. It was perfect for scientific and historical discovery and visual/ kinaesthetic learners.

We were also surprised just how much there was to do. The museum itself was massive and more and more exhibits kept appearing before us. The Cold War exhibition is also incredibly vast. It also features a section of the Berlin Wall, that the Museum paid a hefty price to obtain.

Overall definitely worth a look and practically on our doorstep :)
